CoolSculpting to Reduce Bulges of Fat

CoolSculptingIf you have bulges of fat on your tummy, hips, sometimes solid cellulite, or back that diet and exercise just won’t shrink you may have considered liposuction. But now there’s a new, light, non invasive option that can attack jiggle. Recently cleared by the FDA, CoolSculpting by Zeltiq involves using a gel patch and a handheld applicator that is attached to a machine to freeze and break down fat cells. (The body’s lymphatic system then reabsorbs them.)

In clinical studies, patients noticed a 20 to 25 percent difference six to eight weeks after just one treatment. “Skin isn’t damaged during the hour-long session, and you won’t feel discomfort beyond the initial chill,” says Fredric Brandt. M.D. a cosmetic dermatologist in NYC and Miami.

How CoolSculpting works:
it is based on a principle of heat, so it can lead to apoptosis subcutaneous fat cells, subjected to a thermal stress that causes the freeze. The machine, in fact, has a pressure applicator that pulls toward the areas to be treated, thanks to the system that creates a slight vacuum, the skin is so wedged between two plates, applying a strong cooling of the area, thus removing thermal energy to the fat cells, which are so damaged, without being affected, however, the layer of skin cells. The dead cells are then removed by metabolism and eliminated in the same way they are purified from the physical fats in food that is ingested.
The results come after about 4 months of treatment and consist of a visible reduction of the unsightly bulges of fat.

The downsides: only one area may be treated at a time, and you can expect to pay from 700 Usd to 1,500 for each appointment.
